The JPSC Combined Civil Services Examination consists of three stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is a screening test conducted for selection to the Main Examination.

Stage 2: Main Examination

Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear in the Main Examination.

The Main Examination consists of descriptive papers designed to assess knowledge, analytical ability, writing skills, and administrative aptitude.
