Examination Pattern

The UPPCS Examination consists of three stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination serves as a screening test for selection to the Main Examination.

Note: The Preliminary Examination is only a screening test. Marks obtained in Prelims are not counted in the final merit list.

Stage 2: Main Examination

Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear in the Main Examination.

The Main Examination evaluates a candidate’s knowledge, analytical ability, writing skills, and understanding of governance and public administration.
