Examination Pattern

The MPPSC State Service Examination consists of three stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination serves as a screening test for admission to the Main Examination.

Paper I: General Studies

150 Questions | 300 Marks | 2 Hours

Important Points

✅ Both papers are objective (MCQ) in nature

✅ Paper-II (CSAT) is qualifying in nature

✅ Minimum 33% marks required in Paper-II

✅ Marks of Paper-II are not counted for merit

✅ 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer

✅ No deduction for unanswered questions


Stage 2: Main Examination

Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear in the Main Examination.

The Main Examination consists of six descriptive papers designed to assess analytical ability, conceptual understanding, writing skills, and administrative aptitude.
